I have to admit with 2020 I really fell asleep at the wheel when it came to updating my work, blogging, etc.

This sweet girl is already a full year old but in my attempt to get off the bench and back in the game, I really felt like I should share her posed newborn photo session even if it is a year behind schedule.

Hayden was a dream to photograph! She basically melted into the wraps and onto the blankets. This sweet snuggly little girl even gave us a few little smiles here and there (scroll down to see one of them) These are some of my favorite images from her session!

Enjoy!

Outdoor Family Photo Session- Penrod Family Photos in Littleton, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2021/6/outdoor-family-photo-session--penrod-family-photos-in-littleton-colorado

Let's hear it for the Dads in our lives. The ones who picked us up when we scraped our knees, the ones who made a million peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, the ones who ran along side of us as we learned to ride a bike, and the ones who explained how an engine worked even when we didn't care why while learning to drive. For the dad's who wiped away a million tears, were the root causes of the rough-housing that made mom yell, and the dads that clapped louder than anyone else when you scored that goal.... we are grateful for all of you.

This Father's Day I wanted to share a family session with you all with a dad who was all in and super happy to be photographed with his wife and two beautiful daughters. We met at Mount Falcon and caught the perfect rays of sun during Golden Hour. These are just a few of my favorites (and there were SO MANY) from their session. Enjoy!

Coronacation- A Personal Project in Denver, Colorado- Toddler's First Snow Day https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2020/4/coronacation--a-personal-project-in-denver-colorado--toddlers-first-snow-day Coronacation

Oh good ol' Coronavirus... man oh man have you made a mess of our world...but you can't break us, you won't break us.

I, like many people, have found myself unable to work and have been spending my days at home quarantined with my dogs (two newfoundlands) and my son, who is just under two years old. Being a toddler, he is always on the move and ready for adventure. This has been quite the education on how to help his brain and body feel fulfilled with exercise and mental stimulation. Yesterday, we had a fairly significant snow storm blow through making our backyard playground a snowy white tundra. I'll admit, I wasn't sure if I should take him outside at all... but he ran out twice in his jammies without shoes so I decided we would at least try. I bundled him up, put socks on his hands because we didn't have gloves, and my beanie on his head because he wouldn't keep the hood up. His boots are 2 sizes too big but it was entertaining watching him figure out how to walk in them. He absolutely loved it! He took more nose dives into the freezing ground than I can count, he tried to eat snow like his dogs, and he had a whole new world to discover. After about 20 minutes his face was red, his hands were cold, and I knew it was time to go in. I will forever remember this day for a few reasons... but mostly because there is nothing better as a parent than watching your baby be enlightened and excited by the world... even in the middle of a global crisis.

These are a few of my favorites in the middle of playing outside. Enjoy!

xoxo

Smash Cake and One Year Photo Session- Ava's First Birthday in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2020/4/smash-cake-and-one-year-photo-session--avas-first-birthday-in-denver-colorado Ava is turning one! I can hardly believe it! It feels like it was only a few weeks ago that I was meeting her for her newborn session. We transformed Ava's nursery at home to set up for a smash cake and first year photo session. Her mother and grandmother made her smash cake the night before for her. Not only was it really pretty, but it's definitely a special memory for all three of them. Afterwards we did some family photos and a bath to wash off all of the cake. This is a big blog.... I'm sure you'll see why shortly. She's SO CUTE! These are some of my favorites.

Enjoy!

LBGT Denver Wedding at Christ Church United Methodist- Sharon + Gina in Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2020/2/sharon-ginas-wedding-at-christ-church-united-methodist-in-denver-colorado Let's just talk about these two partners in life and in love... wow!

Sharon and Gina had a very calm, relaxed, and loving wedding day. They were surrounded by their friends, family, friends who had become family, religious community, LGBTQ community, and each other. It was perfect. Sharon currently is the Senior Pastor at Christ Church United Methodist in Denver. This church welcomes all Christian marriages regardless of sexual orientation and gender expressions. Their website reads "It took me a long time to come to terms with my faith and sexuality. This is the first church I ever found that affirms both."  I love that so much!

Love is love, period.

We all need to tell more of these love stories and show their beauty whenever we can....and by "these love stories" I mean love stories that are honest, humble, true, faithful, nurturing, soul enriching, ever lasting, and all consuming to make us better partners and human beings.

Sharon and Gina have this.... if you don't believe me, start scrolling....

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. They haven't seen the way that these two women look at each other.

A thousand words doesn't even begin to cover it.

As they held hands walking down the aisle together, you could feel the overwhelming warmth and joy from all of their guests. Sharon and Gina had so many unique and personal touches to their ceremony that I have never seen before. Starting out, they asked each person write a prayer, well wish, or loving thought on a piece of paper to begin their marriage together. A custom made painting from Gina's son, Jonah, was a beautiful tribute to their union and served as a unifying art piece that everyone who was present that day was encouraged to contribute to. They also had extremely meaningful readings, songs, and prayer connecting them together with rings and a kiss. After their ceremony, they had a sweet reception with several cakes that were hand crafted by Gina's mother. Their wedding party honored them with two very kind toasts and Gina and Sharon shared a first dance together after cutting their beautiful cakes.

During Gina and Sharon's couple's portraits, I was snapping away in the church courtyard watching these two when I drew back my camera and realized that I had been standing at exactly the right angle to capture a rainbow in their portraits. Finding a rainbow at 1pm on a sunny bright day is RARE. My eyes welled with tears because as a believer in signs, this couldn't have been more perfect for them. Let's repeat that.... those rainbows are not photoshop or an overlay.... those are honest, true, God given rainbows. MAGIC

As the sunset began that evening, my second and I took Sharon and Gina back out to the courtyard. My secondary photographer, Molly, caught the magic in the exact same spot as before this time and these final portraits are some of my favorites from the day. I feel the need to call her out and let everyone know how talented she is. Her website is linked at the bottom of the blog. I could not have asked for a better secondary that day! Thank you Molly for all that you do! You are the best!

This is a BIG blog! Please leave a note for the newlyweds down below, every couple loves to read the sweet things others have to say about their wedding day. It was a joy to work with these women and I truly wish that I could re-live their day all over again.

Enjoy!

xoxo

Lifestyle Newborn Session-Wylder's Cool Guitar, Lakewood, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2020/1/wylders-newborn-session-in-lakewood-colorado I have to start out this blog by saying how much fun I had working with this family! Their lifestyle newborn session was one of the most unique photo projects I've ever had the pleasure of taking on. Mike and Bethann were laughing about how hard it was to not wear solid black because thats how they normally dress. Their dog, Misha, was curious the entire session but did not like the shutter click of my camera and went running almost every time I snapped a few photos. Eventually, we got this shy pup in there for a few. Go team! Bethann was open to doing some breastfeeding photos during their session and I am really glad that she did. There is something so special about it when they are that small in your arms and so new to the world. We forget as moms how they used to fit so tightly to our chest and it's a really lovely reminder when they no longer fit because they've grown so quickly. I think the most unique part of their session though was Mike's fusion of his love with guitars and music into his son's photos. Mike picked a few of his favorites to take with Wylder and then he actually played one with Wylder ON THE GUITAR! Don't worry for all of you safety conscious people out there, Mom was right there spotting everything and he was very securely placed on the acoustic guitar. It was really incredible. I think every dad who plays an instrument out there would see this and request the same type of photos because it's just so special. This was impossible to narrow down because their family was so photogenic and so sweet, but these are some of my favorite images from their lifestyle newborn photo shoot.

Enjoy!

Newborn Baby Photo Session- Willa's Newborn Session in Littleton, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/12/willas-newborn-session After photographing the Richter Family's maternity session, they notified me that their daughter, Willa, had arrived. She was an absolute dream to photograph. She was so snuggly and she settled into all of the poses perfectly. We were even able to squeeze in some sweet mother-daughter, sibling, and family photos. Her nursery was full of unique and hand painted art from friends and family with gorgeous shades of sunflower yellows and lavender purples. Willa had some of the best baby smiles I've ever caught on camera so make sure you scroll all the way through the blog post to check them out.

These are some of my favorites from their session. Enjoy!

Family Maternity Photo Session- Richter Family at Lakewood Cultural Heritage Center in Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/11/tessas-family-maternity-session The Richter Family is beyond cute! Little Rhett kept us moving and on our toes the entire time but we got some amazing family photos of them while they are still a unit of 3 (well, 3 and 3/4). We met at the Lakewood Heritage Center near Belmar in early fall to capture Tessa's sweet baby bump before their daughter, Willa, arrived. This family got an INCREDIBLE sunset for their last few photos, so make sure you scroll all the way down to the last image (because its my favorite!) I can't wait to share their newborn photo session that happened just a short time after we photographed this one. Stay tuned to the blog and you'll see her arrival soon!

These are some of my personal favorites from their maternity shoot.

Newborn Baby Photo Session- Jacob's Newborn Photoshoot in Aurora, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/11/baby-jacob-arrives Baby Jacob has arrived!

This little boy was born on his parent's 4th wedding anniversary, how special is that?

This sweet babe was born at 8 lbs 5oz, 20 inches long, and a full thick head of beautiful hair. His mama, Sarah, and I had a lot of similarities in our birth experiences. It may not have been what we planned, but we are WARRIORS and we are STRONG and our bodies are CAPABLE of doing INCREDIBLE things. No matter how you bring a life into the world, it is beautiful and it makes no mark on how much of a woman you are or how competent of a mother you will become. One of the most wonderful things about becoming a parent is the bond that you share with women all around you because motherhood is a magical and challenging thing. Welcome to mama-hood and the sisterhood Sarah! You made a very handsome baby boy!

These are some of my favorite images from his session. Enjoy!

Family Photo Session- Kraft Family at Mount Falcon in Morrison, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/11/kraft-family-photo-session The Kraft's had a great fall family photo session!

I have known Sara since high school (we won't talk about how long ago that was) and last year she reached out about doing family photos. We tried twice in early winter and the weather presented bitter cold for both sessions. We decided we should wait until a better time came along... mission accomplished! We had a gorgeous Colorado day and I think we got some definite keepers! These are some of my favorites from their session.

Halloween Inspired Photo Session- Special Project in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/10/halloween--special-project This was a special project that Cheyenne and I created together about four years ago. At the time, I didn't have a proper place to showcase our incredible session so today seemed like the perfect time to pull this experience out of the archives and present it. Cheyenne came up with the concept and the styling (and she did her own make-up which was INCREDIBLE) and I chose the location and was just generally along for the ride. We had a lot of fun that day getting creepy and I am really proud of what we created together.

Happy Halloween!

Enjoy!

Newborn Baby Photo Session- Kai's Newborn Photos in Lakewood, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/9/newborn-baby-photo-session--kais-newborn-photos-in-lakewood-colorado Say hello to Kai!

We met in Kai's home and transformed his nursery into our mini studio for the day. Casie (his mom) and their pup (D Money) kept us company in the toasty warm room while we took Kai's photos. We wanted to make sure we incorporated a few special items into his session, the first, which is easy to spot, is his dad's skateboard. Later on in the session, we posed him with a photograph of his grandpa who unfortunately passed when his dad was young. We also had to include D Money, their furry baby, because he was just so excited to check out where the baby was after we finished. These are some of my favorites from his session. I hope you love them as much as I do.

Enjoy!

Maternity Photo Session- Emily and Ben at Mount Falcon in Morrison, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/8/emily-and-bens-maternity-session Emily and Ben are having a baby!

These two have an incredibly cute story. They began dating at 14 years old and talked on the phone for hours and hours (and probably got in trouble when they got caught talking after 2am). Eventually life took them in different directions, but they reunited as adults and had that same instant chemistry. Emily had a son, Marcel, from a previous marriage and he is beyond excited to meet his little sister. I met the three of them to take some maternity photos before she arrives. This little peanut is now overdue.... come on out sister! We are very ready to meet you, especially your family!  Keep a look out for her official name and her newborn session in the next few weeks. These are some of my favorites from their session.

Enjoy!

Lifestyle Newborn Photo Session- Madeline's Newborn Session in Littleton, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/5/baby-madeline Welcome to the World Baby Madeline!

I am so excited to share that I am now offering in home lifestyle newborn sessions. After having a baby of my own less than a year ago, I realized how wonderful it is to capture the magic that comes with a new life in the family (and showing how perfect even the imperfect can be) I think there is something truly special in capturing the way the nursery looks, who was there to help the family after this new little person arrived, and the day to day activities that we will someday look back on with nostalgia. Everything is so fleeting and its not about showing perfection, its about showing the joy and the love that is there in the home.

I met with the Penrod Family to do a fusion photo shoot of both lifestyle and posed images with baby Madeline.

Below are some of my favorite images from their session.

Enjoy!

Newborn Baby Photo Session- Jack's Newborn Photo Session in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2019/3/welcome-to-the-world-jack Welcome to the world Jack!

All babies are special, but sometimes they are even more special because of how you know their mama. Jack's mom and I went to high school together and it was my absolute honor to get to catch up and photograph her youngest babe when he was so new to the world. It's incredible how fast the time goes by and how even after years, you put two women in a room together and it's like no time has passed. Make sure you check out the super cool Ford bench that Jack's daddy picked out. I've never seen anything like it and it definitely helped to make his session unique! These are a few of my favorites from his session. Enjoy!

Wedgewood Wedding at Boulder Creek- Mae + Nolan's Wedding https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2017/11/mae-nolans-beautiful-wedding-at-wedgewood-at-boulder-creek Mae, or Meghan, and Nolan are two of the kindest people you will ever meet. Mae has a way of hugging you that you can not only feel her embrace, but her entire spirit hugging you. She is so incredibly loving and so wonderfully full of life. These two met in Antarctica of all places. Truly, they both flew to the least populated place in the world to work on a project, met, and well ...the rest is history. Their wedding was full of so much joy and laughter with vows that came from the heart. There was a sweet mentioning of Harry Potter throughout their wedding, from the signs on the back of their sweetheart chairs and the bottoms of Mae's shoes. They also wed on the eve of the Solar Eclipse and gifted each member of their wedding with special glasses so they could watch the rare event the next day. It was the coolest and most useful wedding gift to their guests that I have ever seen! I definitely took a pair home for myself ! Ha!

I could go on and on about all of the fabulous things about their day so I will just get to the photos... its a BIG blog.... ready? Enjoy!

The morning was beautiful and bright but the early afternoon brought a blanket of cloud cover and sprinkling rain. As Vivian put on her dress and Justin finished taking photos with the groomsmen, the rain gave way and allowed their ceremony to remain outside. It was a truly heartfelt ceremony full of honestly, laughter, and vows that were created in the moment for one another. They kept their reception simple and more centered around spending time with their closest friends and family instead of all of the traditional elements (like garter and bouquet tosses). Vivian and Justin had some incredible details including custom anime cake toppers, a Harry Potter ring holder, and a pink champagne toast! They were truly lovely to work with and it was an honor to photograph their wedding day. These are some of my favorites from their wedding day. Enjoy!

Engagement Photo Session- Justin + Vivian at Civic City Park in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2017/5/vivian-and-justins-civic-center-park-engagement-session I met with Justin and Vivian two weeks ago to photograph their engagement session. They live in Colorado Springs but wanted their photo session in the city. We chose Civic City Park in the heart of Denver, right next to the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Capitol Building. But before we get any farther into this blog post, let's stop and state the obvious.  These two are seriously cute...like they like each other as much as I love cupcakes and my first cup of hot coffee in the morning. It's legit. That being said, they are exactly the couples who I adore working with. They are funny, considerate, unique, playful, and above all, genuine. It was so much fun capturing this couple being together in their own little world, even though they described themselves as "the worst picture takers ever" and "so awkward." I think we knocked it out of the park. I can't wait to photograph their wedding in almost a month. I hope you all love it too!

(P.s. Check out her rad old school red Doc Martens... they are amazing)

Enjoy!

xoxo

* For this next set of images, I stopped them to ask them what was their favorite part about one another. It got a little weird, but I think these are some of my favorite from their session. I asked him first, he said her brain. (Awww, right?!)

Then he said he liked her butt.

Then it got a little silly but thats exactly who they are. I love it Sh

Holy Ghost Catholic Church Wedding- Taise + Daniel's snowy wedding in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2017/4/wedding-surprises-daniel-and-taise-and-their-snowy-denver-wedding Last spring I had the joy and privilege of assisting Chris Erin Loring on a wedding here in Denver, Colorado. We woke up to a heavy wet snow all across the Denver Metro Area and encountered closed businesses, empty streets, and the the quiet snow falling all around making you feel as though you are the only people in the city. Taise and Daniel had dreams of a Catholic ceremony at  Holy Ghost Catholic Church followed by a scenic drive up to Breckenridge with a small group of loved ones.... the snow caused a bit of a hiccup in their plans but you'd never know it. Their mountain route was closed due to road conditions and they relocated their bridal portraits to the Pavilion at Cheesman Park. Her mother told me that they had prayed for snow, I jokingly told her that she had prayed too hard because they received a blizzard! We all laughed and I have never seen such a gracious and poised family even in the height of their plans quickly changing. They were thankful to be together, happy to be safe, and completely in love. I wish I could bottle this feeling and give it to all of the brides who have unintended weather on their day. It was truly my honor to assist Chris with this beautiful wedding. Here are a few photos that I snapped along the way, but click here to see Chris' blog and website for her incredible images!

Church Ranch Event Center Wedding- Brian + Angie's Wedding in Westminster, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/9/angie-and-brians-wedding--church-ranch-event-center-colorado Angie and Brian were wed on July 31, 2016 at the Church Ranch Event Center in Westminster, Colorado.

It was truly a family focused wedding that was full of laughter and joy. Angie's dress came from Amanda's Bridal in Arvada, Colorado and was a beautiful tea length dress. Her beaded belt was gorgeous and a special addition to bridal look. Her bouquet, from Thorn Creek Flowers, was full of color with a variety of roses and daisies. The day started out full of bright sunshine and then slowly faded into some gray skies with the chance of threatening rainfall. As the family arrived and Angie and Brian stepped into their wedding clothing, it looked as if it would surely pour. Both of Angie's parents escorted her down the aisle and they began the ceremony with a butterfly release. Their officiant made their ceremony truly unique by singing intermittently and assisting them in their first exchange by gifting one another roses. Just as they took their first kiss as husband and wife, the sun began to shine through the clouds and the rest of the evening was perfect. Their guests played the Kissing Game during dinner by answering trivia about the couple, demonstrating a kiss, giving speeches, and toasting to the happy couple. They kept the surprises coming for their guests by even including a dance lesson for their guests during the reception! I had such an amazing time being a part of their wedding day and I hope you enjoy some of my personal favorites from their album! Enjoy!

Engagement Photo Session- Robb + Ana's Photo Session in Evergreen, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/7/ana-and-robb--an-engagement-session-in-evergreen-colorado Ana and Robb are an amazing couple. Truly, they are. In the short time that I've known them, they are warm, friendly, and full of inappropriate jokes. (Which I absolutely love!) We met at Elk Meadow in Evergreen, Colorado on a hot summer day a few weeks ago to celebrate their engagement. Dominique Gildea, the creator Fall Child Photography, also photographed their session alongside me and we had a lot of fun collaborating together.  We can't wait to photograph their wedding in August of 2017! Here are a few favorites from their session

Shining Mountain Golf Course Wedding- Charles + Katie's Woodland Park Wedding, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/7/charles-katie--a-shining-mountain-wedding-in-woodland-park Charles and Katie were wed June 21st in Woodland Park, Colorado at the Shining Mountain Golf Course. I was asked by Jacie, who owns JW Photography, to come and be an assistant photographer for the day. The day couldn't have been more perfect. There were only a few intermittent clouds in the sky and sun was full and bright. Their ceremony was at 3pm and although it was hot (97 degrees!) their vows were so incredible you didn't even notice. I think my personal favorite was when Katie promised to give Charles 10 minutes of silence every day. Haha! They were such an incredible couple to work with and so full of joy. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much during their reception. Charles' retrieval of the garter was by far the BEST I have ever seen and they had a perfect sparkler exit to end the night. I hope you all love their wedding day as much as I did. Congratulations Charles and Katie!

A Lost Boutonniere https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/7/a-lost-boutonniere Yesterday was my husband and my 5th wedding anniversary and we always try to take a trip up the mountains and go walk around our ceremony site together. It's off the beaten path but its so incredibly special to us. As we walked down what was my aisle, we noticed that someone had most likely had a ceremony there earlier that day. There were some scattered red rose petals and at the base of a tree, someone had left their boutonniere in the plastic box. My husband and I were both scouts growing up so our first instinct was to pick it up because we were worried about wildlife and my second instinct was.... ooh! a fresh boutonniere! I want to photograph it! So we picked it up, took it home, (along with other small pieces of trash we found), and this morning took 10 minutes to photograph it in my dining room.

Here is some fun information regarding the history of boutonnieres:

1. The word boutonniere comes from the French word, "buttonhole."

Traditionally, the flower was placed directly into the button hole on a man's suit or tux.

2. In the 1700's, boutonnieres were worn to ward of disease, evil spirits, and undesirable smells.

Many men wore them on a daily basis and then over time they became an accessory for men for only the most formal occasions.

3. Today, boutonnieres are meant to match a ladies corsage or wedding bouquet.

4. Boutonnieres no longer have to be just flowers.

People have used really fun and unique materials to further the look and style that they are looking for.

Many men choose to include something personal to them on their lapel such as guitar picks, fishing lures,

small action figures, clocks,  wine corks, family photos, firearm casings, feathers, seashells, etc.

Denver Wedding Photography- The Beauty in Getting Ready Portraits, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/5/the-beauty-in-getting-ready-portraits People ask me all the time, what is your favorite part to photograph on the wedding day? Honestly, I love just about every moment... but there is something really lovely and special about the getting ready process. I love the anticipation and the excitement. I love the hustle and bustle as everyone puts on some of the most beautiful clothing they'll ever wear in a room with their best friends and family. I love seeing the bride's eyes light up when she sees her hair and its exactly what she hoped for.  These moments are so fleeting and sometimes so subtle that it is what makes it an essential feature in the final wedding album.

I accompanied Chris Loring, of Chris Loring Photography, last May to capture Stacey and Aaron's Vail Wedding as her second photographer. Both the bride and groom had amazing two story suites that were just down the hall from one another. It was a fantastic way to capture both of them getting ready on the morning of their wedding day. I loved these images so much that I wanted to share just this one piece of their wedding day. I hope you love them as much as I do! Enjoy!

xoxo

Corey

Just before everyone left to go to the ceremony, Stacey's daughter received a gift from the groom (and her soon to be daddy). She opened it with such care and sat in silence while intensely looking it over. It was obvious that to her it wasn't just a photo in a picture frame. After a few moments, she looked up to show her aunt and both of their eyes welled up with tears. It was a moment I won't ever forget.

Newborn Twins Photo Session- Tripland Twins newborn photography in Littleton, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/4/tripland-twins I'm not even sure where to start but by saying, I'm totally in love with these little girls.

A lot of newborns are sweet and cuddly and of course are a miracle, but these two... well, they are special. After I arrived for their session, one of their mommies asked me to use a special outfit in their photos if possible. Later, we decided that they would be swimming in them at the moment because they were still too small to fit. One said 'Worth the Wait' and that couldn't be more true. After many failed attempts at conception, I have no doubt in my mind that these two little girls couldn't be more blessed to have moms who wanted them more than anything in the world. You can feel it when you see them. The pride, the joy, and the overwhelming love they all share is incredible. These moms took to motherhood like ducks to water! I can only hope that I will look as graceful and as calm someday when I enter the mama-hood. They were even kind enough to let me stay after the session to hold both sweet peas and feed one of them. I've chosen a few of my personal favorites from their session. Enjoy!

Lord of the Rings Inspired Winter Photo Session- Cosplay photo session in Breckenridge, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/1/lord-of-the-rings-inspired-winter-shoot A few weeks ago I got the amazing opportunity to photograph this beautiful couple, Stefanie and Felix, in a Lord of the Rings inspired snowy session in Breckenridge, Colorado. Working side by side with two other photographers, we found some incredible scenery and the snow could not have been more perfect with our theme. Sessions like this one get me beyond excited because they are full of creativity (Stefanie made all of their clothing by hand!) and it was so unique to them as a couple.

I would absolutely love to photograph more sessions and weddings like this one!

Enjoy!

Couples Portrait Session- Josh + Eliza in Denver, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/1/eliza-and-josh You might recognize Eliza and Josh from the previous post on this blog. When we set up the shoot with her debutante ball gown, Eliza also asked if we could take some cute couples photos as well outside of her dress. Of course I said yes! I love that she recognized that having a few fun and nice photos of you and your significant other is important. We often put off having photos taken because we put too much pressure on them to be perfect or because everything isn't "just right." The truth is, in 20 years we won't care if our hair wasn't perfect that day or if the outfit wasn't exactly what we wanted. We cherish those photos no matter what they were. We laugh about the outdated hair styles and the clothes, but we hold them close because it is a time in our lives we can't get back and they become priceless to ourselves and our loved ones.

I hope you love this playful little mini session we did prior to our dress session. Enjoy!

After the Debutant Ball Photo Session- Eliza + Josh at Denver Center of Performing Arts, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2016/1/eliza-and-the-dress As some of my clients may know, I also work in a spa during the week as a nail technician. I've been doing this for the past 10 years and along the way I've met and created some fantastic relationships with some of my clients. One of them told me not too long ago that her daughter would be introduced at the Denver Debutante Ball and that they would love for me to do their nails. Of course I was excited, who doesn't love a ball with pretty white dresses?! (After all, weddings are my favorite thing to photograph!) My client also offered to let me take the dress for an additional spin for fun to create some "wedding like" images and have a fun photo shoot with Eliza. I met Eliza and her boyfriend, Josh, at the Denver Performing Arts Center in Denver on a Sunday afternoon. It was FREEZING! How she managed to not show how cold she was in 16 degree weather, I'll never know! We moved from inside the buildings to the outside to make sure she never completely froze. I had an absolute blast photographing these two! I hope you love their session as much as I do! Enjoy!

Destination Grand Lake Lodge Wedding- Justin + Katie's Wedding in Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/10/katie-and-justins-destination-wedding-at-the-grand-lake-lodge-colorado I've been incredibly blessed this year to shoot some amazing weddings and a few have been destination couples who have come to share in Colorado for our gorgeous landscapes and mountain towns. Katie and Justin, along with all their friends and family, traveled all the way from Racine, Wisconsin to Grand Lake here in Colorado. This not only includes a long flight but a two and a half hour drive. The Grand Lake Lodge is nestled in the Southwest portion of Rocky Mountain National Park and this national landmark is not only known for its gorgeous views, but its phenomenal preservation of wildlife. A day prior to Katie and Justin's wedding, there was a local moose just hanging out at their ceremony site. They are abundant in Grand Lake and are quite impressive, even to natives. (I know because I am one!)

The morning of their wedding was gorgeous, full blue skies dappled with bright white clouds. As the afternoon rolled in, a few storm clouds came over the mountain peaks and sprinkled rain for a few moments prior to the ceremony. The sun didn't really come out again after that but the day was so full of amazing moments that it really didn't matter. The aisle to their ceremony site is gorgeously long, which is perfect because it's a moment you should truly cherish as a bride. Sometimes during a ceremony there is a moment, that evokes so much emotion, everyone is changed for having heard the words spoken. For me, as a photographer, it was the moment Justin read his vows to Alyssa, their daughter. They were heartfelt and funny, but unmistakably real and tender. As I tried to choke back my own tears, I turned my camera to the guests and found I was not alone... there was not a single dry eye there. It gives me goosebumps to think about that moment. The honor of hearing those words in all sincerity is exactly why I love weddings, why I crave telling the story for someone else's future generations. Hearing genuine laughter and seeing priceless expressions in those around me makes me full and I only hope you can see some of that truth when you look at their album. Thank you Katie, Justin, Alyssa, and your friends and family for including me in your wedding vision. It was a true honor to work with you. Enjoy!

A Colorado Elopement, Catamount Falls Wedding- David + Sarah in Colorado Springs, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/9/a-colorado-elopement-sarah-and-david-wed-at-catamount-falls-in-colorado-springs When you ask some brides about their wedding, they talk about the flowers, the venue, the dress....

When I talked to Sarah it was all about a marriage and starting a new chapter in her life with her husband David. From the moment you interact with her, you can tell that Sarah is warm and loving. She described to me that her mom and sister were two pieces of her soul and that David is her best friend and the greatest love in her life. I hadn't even met her yet, but I knew I wanted to photograph her wedding. We talked via text and email for a few months prior to her wedding day and she was always very clear about what was important, family and capturing their bonds together. I brought along an assistant shooter, Melanie with Flying Heart Photography, and we met Sarah, her sister, and their mom at their cabin as they were getting ready before the ceremony. Once she was ready, we caravanned over to the ceremony site and hiked up a short hill to Catamount Falls. Their ceremony was sweet and full of meaning. After the ceremony, Sarah and David agreed to walk into the middle of a waterfall for some amazing bridal portraits! How many couples are willing to walk into the middle of a waterfall? Not many! I couldn't of asked for a nicer couple who was focused on the real meaning of a wedding, a solid and trusting marriage. I wish nothing but the best for you both in the future! It was an absolute joy to be a part of your wedding day! Enjoy!

(I usually don't include the family photos in a blog, but I thought these were cute and fun. I love when dad's want to make the photos more exciting)

Everyone else headed down the hill to start the reception after, but we stayed behind to capture some bride and groom portraits. They were so in love and so happy I hardly had to pose them at all. I think you'll see what I mean when you look at them, they are beyond sweet!

Wedgewood at Tapestry House Wedding- Nate + Heidi's Wedding in Fort Collins, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/7/heidi-and-nate-get-married Heidi and Nate were such a fun couple to work with! Their day was exactly like weddings should be... relaxed, fun, full of love and full of laughter. My second shooter, Dominique, and I met Heidi at her home in Fort Collins to capture her getting ready first and then we moved over to the Tapestry House. The day was gorgeous, blue skies and big fluffy white clouds... until we started driving over to the venue and the big storm clouds started rolling in. Heidi and Nate moved seamlessly through the weather change and decided to move the ceremony inside instead of trying to gamble on the impending weather. The ceremony was perfect! The vows were heartfelt and they included some beautiful readings and a hand-fasting "Tying of the Knot." After the ceremony we snuck out to take some bridal portraits and then the family photos. The way the Tapestry House lights up the trees makes everything feel so special and magical and they provided a beautiful backdrop for all of the family poses. Then the party really started after the cocktail hour with the toasts, cake-cutting, and bouquet/garter toss. Well... sort of, it turns out after a peek from the groom, there was in fact, no garter belt to retrieve! It was quite funny. The dancing was fantastic, I think they had almost the entire group out there on the dance floor, including Nate's grandpa. They finished the night by placing their brick into the ground to commemorate their wedding date. We hope you two had a blast on your wedding day! Please don't forget to leave a comment for the newlyweds below!

Hudson Gardens Wedding- Austin + Whitney's wedding after LDS Church ceremony in Littleton, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/7/austin-and-whitney-tie-the-knot Whitney and Austin couldn't be a cuter couple. They are simply adorable. It takes just a few moments standing next to them to feel their warmth and their care for all those around them and their genuine care for one another. The way the look at one another and reach for their opposite's hands tells me these two have found the real deal. I was invited by Breanna McKendrick, of Breanna McKendrick Photography, to come and be her second photographer for their sweet ceremony over Memorial Day Weekend at the Hudson Gardens in Littleton, Colorado. I felt so blessed to be part of such a meaningful ceremony and celebration between Whitney and Austin. They were officially married the day before in the LDS Church in a private ceremony so they decided to have a second celebration with additional friends and family who were unable to view the sealing in the temple. They had a lovely receiving line after their ceremony and shared a light meal afterwards. I am thrilled to share these images with you. Congratulations to Whitney and Austin!

Lila and Jorian Play at Regis University, Denver Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/6/lila-and-jorian I have had the pleasure and the honor of photographing these two sweet hearts since they were first born. We always get together around their birthdays, but this year the time got a little away from us so we had a summer session instead of a spring session. We met at the Regis University Campus in Denver, Colorado to find some green grass, fun fountains, and lots of flowers to play in. We even found a small strawberry patch! Lila is loving the camera but her brother Jorian was more excited about running through the trees and exploring. I had a blast with their little family! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do!

Newborn Baby Photo Session- Baby Boy Newborn Photos in Golden, Colorado https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/4/boy-oh-boy Boy oh boy have there been a lot of babies lately! It's so wonderful! I can honestly say that this is one of my most favorite newborn sessions to date. Not only was the family awesome to work with (even the dog jumped in a few shots for us!), but they had some amazing gems in their home that made their session extra special. The father of this baby boy used reclaimed barn wood above their wet bar and I absolutely had to use it! It was gorgeous! They also had a Colorado beetle kill wall in the study of the house so we chose to take a few family photos there. This handsome little man, who's name won't be revealed, was as sweet as could be. He was an excellent sleeper and a full head of thick dark hair. We chose not to use too many hats because it was just to precious to hide! So without much more delay, I will get to what you are all hoping to see, the baby!

Enjoy!

Gabriel's Smash Cake and Bath Session https://www.coreyelizabethphotography.com/blog/2015/4/gabriels-smash-cake-and-bath-session The last time I photographed this handsome young man he was just a few days old. The time flew by and he's already turning one! We all met in the family home and set up his smash cake session. At first Gabriel was pretty curious about what the cake was all about... until he got a little bit messy, then he thought it was the most terrible idea ever. So we took him in to have bath time, which usually turns any grumpy mood around. Unfortunately, that only made it worse. So we decided to meet again and re-do the tubby time part of the session. This time he was all smiles and splashy giggles and his oldest brother stayed with his mom and I to help make sure he stayed entertained. I think these are beyond precious! Enjoy!
