Coronacation
Oh good ol' Coronavirus... man oh man have you made a mess of our world...but you can't break us, you won't break us.
I, like many people, have found myself unable to work and have been spending my days at home quarantined with my dogs (two newfoundlands) and my son, who is just under two years old. Being a toddler, he is always on the move and ready for adventure. This has been quite the education on how to help his brain and body feel fulfilled with exercise and mental stimulation. Yesterday, we had a fairly significant snow storm blow through making our backyard playground a snowy white tundra. I'll admit, I wasn't sure if I should take him outside at all... but he ran out twice in his jammies without shoes so I decided we would at least try. I bundled him up, put socks on his hands because we didn't have gloves, and my beanie on his head because he wouldn't keep the hood up. His boots are 2 sizes too big but it was entertaining watching him figure out how to walk in them. He absolutely loved it! He took more nose dives into the freezing ground than I can count, he tried to eat snow like his dogs, and he had a whole new world to discover. After about 20 minutes his face was red, his hands were cold, and I knew it was time to go in. I will forever remember this day for a few reasons... but mostly because there is nothing better as a parent than watching your baby be enlightened and excited by the world... even in the middle of a global crisis.
These are a few of my favorites in the middle of playing outside. Enjoy!
